Signed with Island records, Jesse toured around California in a Volkswagen van as the drummer of an all Canadian groove band, while Shari was in Toronto, honing her vocal and writing skills and working on her solo album, "Real". Years later they finally crossed paths; realizing they both had a love for groove music they set out to write their first tune together, "Are We Listening" and soon after that, -hanagraf- was formed.
